Summer vacation driving is for many cars the hardest part of the year. The increased weight of the fully laden car, high speeds, heat and lengthy downhill stretches can suddenly render heavily worn brake lining useless, or create vapour bubbles in old brake fluid. The consequence: Suddenly, the brakes respond considerably later or not at all. In an emergency, the distance needed to bring the vehicle to a standstill is then a few decisive metres too long – or braking is no longer possible at all. Bosch therefore recommends a brake check before all holiday journeys.
